Jewellery by Design named most loved jewellers

Jewellery by Design in Hitchin has been named as the most loved jewellers in the UK in a survey by TheBestOf.

The two-week campaign saw Jewellery by Design receive 122 recommendations. ZigZag, a Farnham jewellery shop, received 90 love testimonials putting it in second place.

More than 138,000 nationwide testimonials were submitted for TheBestOf’s campaign. More than 30,000 businesses drawn from almost 400 towns and spanning every business type - from hairdressers, tattoo artists, fitness instructors and bridal stores through to accountants, architects and solicitors – received nominations from appreciative customers.

Jewellery by Design is owned by husband and wife team Andy and Wendy Schneider who set up the business in June 2009. Andy Schneider said: “We have just recently returned from Australia, we were missing England, and decide to settle in Hitchin and set up Jewellery by Design and haven’t looked back since. It is fantastic to have received so many testimonials and to see how much our customers love our designs.”

TheBestOf CEO Nigel Botterill said that the campaign revealed the number of high quality jewellery shops across the UK. “Andy and Wendy are running a superb business, and should be rightly proud to be the most loved jewellers in the UK – but to be honest what’s been underscored again and again in this campaign is just how many fantastic local jewellery shops there are in the UK today, and how keen people are to praise them,” he said.
