Lonmin Innovation Awards winning designs sparkle at evening event at IJL

A colourful line-up of IJL evenings began with the Lonmin Design Innovations Award 2011 event last night.

The Saatchi Gallery in Sloane Square London was the glamorous setting for the showcase of the eight winning designs in platinum, which had been revealed on a stand at the trade show earlier in the day.

The main objective of the competition - now in its ninth year - is to push the boundaries of design in platinum. The competition has two categories, Emerging Designers and Established designers.

This year there were five winners in the emerging category and three winners in the established category.

At last night’s event, accompanied by champagne and canapes, the final designs of the eight winners who were selected by a judging panel including Retail Jeweller editor Laura McCreddie, could be seen and touched on models stylishly clad in dresses designed by pop star Dannii Minogue.

The winners of the Emerging Designer category were Leyla Abdollahi, Alexander Davis, Sarah Ho, Anthony Roussel and Laura Strand. The Established Designer winners were Zoe Harding, Fei Liu and Anna Loucah.
