Aurum Holdings launches Watches of Switzerland transactional site

Aurum Holdings has launched a transactional website for Watches of Switzerland as part of the Group’s multichannel growth.

The jeweller, whose portfolio includes Mappin & Webb, Watches of Switzerland and Goldsmiths, has today announced the launch of a transactional website for Watches of Switzerland.

The website, Watches-of-switzerland.co.uk, showcases brands available in store and has been designed to give customers a “world class shopping experience to complement the in-store experience, while mirroring the high levels of customer service”. It also features extracts from Calibre, the company’s twice yearly magazine. The site currently allows customers to purchase around 50% of brands online, but provides full details on all watches, including a watch buyer’s guide to help customers decide.

The launch of the new transactional site is part of Aurum’s strategy to develop a strong multichannel offer and to provide innovative ways to enhance its customers’ shopping experience.
Over the last year, Aurum has continued to invest in its ecommerce offer, introducing a number of key initiatives such as a ‘click and collect’ option and the enhancement of the brands’ transactional websites for goldsmiths.co.uk and mappinandwebb.com. Watches-of-switzerland.co.uk is the latest addition to this strategic development.

Watches of Switzerland is the largest distributor in the world of luxury brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Breitling, Omega and Tag Heuer in the UK. Providing customers with a watch service since 1924, it currently operates from 15 stores.

Ecommerce and marketing director Ruth Benford said: “We are extremely excited about the launch of this unique transactional website, as we continue to invest in our ecommerce platforms to enhance our customer offer. We wanted to provide our customers with a rich content experience, giving them a similar high end shopping experience that they would otherwise get in store. We are very encouraged by the response we have had to date and are confident both our customers and brand partners will be delighted with this innovative concept.”
