Holition and Georg Jensen create 3D augmented reality app
Holition has partnered with Georg Jensen to create a 3D ‘real time’ augmented reality jewellery app.
Now available on the Apple iStore and in Georg Jensen stores around the UK, the Fusion Ring app uses sophisticated mobile technology and also links to Georg Jensen’s advertising campaign and website as well as featuring in the December issue of Tatler in a special promotion entitled Another Dimension.
The magazine article contains a unique graphic code and by using an iPad to point at the code, readers can trigger an animated 3D ‘real time’ jewellery experience complete with accompanying visuals.
By combining augmented reality by 3D digital retail specialists Holition, animation and film and moving the iPad around the graphic code the user can play and see the separate components of the Fusion ring come together from all angles. In-store shoppers can also enjoy a similar experience with one of Georg Jensen’s personalised iPads – the app can be viewed at Georg Jensen Bond Street, Harrods, Selfridges London and Selfridges Manchester.
Georg Jensen head of communications Michaela Wolf commented: “We are delighted that Holition continues to partner us as we enhance the Danish luxury lifestyle experience. The use of augmented reality allows consumers to engage in a more complete and exciting way, bringing the physical experience to life in a digital format.”
Also talking about the reality jewellery app, Holition CEO Jonathan Chippindale, said: “Georg Jensen recognises that today’s digital consumer wants to have an enhanced interaction with products before making a purchase. Holition’s collaboration with the company provides a new way for consumers to link the physical and virtual shopping experience. Through this sophisticated touch point, consumers can interact with the product anywhere. This adds a sense of theatre to the retail experience, bringing the special features of Georg Jensen jewellery to life.”
