Holition creates 'gesture' driven tool for Georg Jensen

Augmented reality specialist Holition has created an application for the launch of George Jensen’s Fusion Ring Designer, which the user controls using hand gestures.

Developed by John Miles, Holition’s partner, the online tool allows customers to browse through and select jewellery with the wave of a hand – think of the technology used in the film Minority Report.

With a simple hand gesture, the user can select from metal colours, diamond numbers and diamond size, among other features, to create combinations that they would like for their Georg Jensen Fusion Ring.

There are 4,000 combinations available for individual rings, creating vast stacking possibilities.

Holition CEO Jonathan Chippindale, said: “Holition’s collaboration with Georg Jensen provides a new way for luxury retailers to link the online/offline shopping experience and consumers to interact with product in-store: adding theatre to the retail experience on a large TV screen enables retailers to offer sophisticated touch points for its customers and, in this special partnership, Holition is able to bring the Georg Jensen jewellery to life for the consumer.”
