All Houlden Group members now platinum recommended retailers
The Houlden Group has become the first jeweller-membership organisation to have 100% of its members achieve Recommended Retailer status from the Platinum Guild International (PGI).
The Recommended Retailer status is designed to identify, promote and support jewellers that provide an outstanding sales experience for consumers buying platinum jewellery. Leeds-based retailer Philip Stoner the Jeweller is the most recent member to achieve the status, obtaining an “above excellent” score.
Ben Grainger, trade manager at PGI, said: “In setting up the Recommended Retailer programme, we wanted it to be a real measure of a retailer’s skill in selling platinum jewellery that consumers could trust. For this reason a mystery shopping process is carried out independently through a third party organisation and so it is a completely impartial measure of a retail jeweller’s abilities in selling the platinum engagement ring or wedding band.”
He added: “Every member of the Houlden Group has now achieved Platinum Recommended Retailer status, which is an unparalleled achievement for a group of independent retailers in the UK or Ireland.”
As members of the PGI, Houlden Group retailers are entitled to a number of benefits, including merchandising materials and involvement in PGI trade show activities. A training programme is also available for members.
Helen Haddow, finance and administrative director of Houlden Group, said: “Houlden Group members stand for exceptional quality and high customer service and every member of our group now achieving Platinum Recommended Retailer status is a confirmation of this fact. We are delighted and look forward to the benefits that come with this.”
