Princess Catherine Doll's jewels replicate Clogau, Robinson Pelham and Dower & Hall designs

Clogau Gold, Dower & Hall, Robinson Pelham and Babette Wasserman all played their part designing the jewellery that has been replicated on the Princess Catherine Wedding Doll, launching today.

Toy company Arklu is revealing the exclusive Princess Catherine Wedding Doll, alongside a matching Prince William Wedding Doll, at London toy store Hamleys at 4pm today.

Two separate products will launch, an individual Princess Catherine Doll and a box set containing the Princess Catherine Doll and the Prince William Doll as a couple. For every unit sold, Arklu will donate £1 to life boat charity, the RNLI, to reflect the Royal Couple’s first joint official public engagement launching a lifeboat.

A host of renowned British designers have come together to dress and accessorise the Princess Catherine Wedding Doll and the Arklu Prince William Wedding Doll.

The Princess Catherine Doll is wearing earrings in the style of those created for Catherine Middleton’s wedding day by boutique jeweller Robinson Pelham, while the tiara has been designed by Dower & Hall.

Additionally, the Princess Catherine Wedding Doll’s ring is inspired by Kate Middleton’s engagement ring, which was originally Princess Diana’s. The doll’s ring boasts a replica purple amethyst central stone set amongst 24 brilliant-cut replica diamante cubic zirconias. It has been created by jewellery designer Babette Wasserman.

A kilogram of pure Clogau Welsh gold was donated to The Royal Family in 1923 and has since been used to create generations of Royal Family wedding rings, including those of The Queen, The Queen Mother and Princess Diana. The marriage between Prince William and Catherine then-Middleton ensured the 88-year continuation of this tradition by choosing a pure Welsh gold wedding band. The doll’s gold-coloured wedding band evokes this tradition.

Lucie Follett, of Chelsea-based Arklu, said: “We wanted to underline our commitment to showcasing the very best of authentic British style and fashion.

“Like Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge herself, we are delighted to be able to combine British craftsmanship and cutting-edge modernity for a truly authentic British look for both of our new dolls.”

The box set of both Princess Catherine and Prince William dolls are being sold for £99.95 on Arklu Ltd’s own website. The single Arklu Princess Catherine Wedding Doll will be sold in Harrods, Hamleys, on Amazon and and in all major toy stores, priced £49.95.
