EC One clinches Best Women's Boutique award

London boutique EC One was awarded the title of London’s Best Women’s Boutique at The London Magazine Awards, last night.

The event, which celebrates London’s independent shops, was held in Burlington Arcade and EC One was up against some stiff competition from the fashion world, including Dover Street Market and Charlotte Olympia. The award was presented by Belle Robinson, co-owner of Jigsaw and a key figure within the British fashion industry.

Owner Jos Skeates said: “When so much of the high street comprises of homogenised brands, phone shops and coffee chains it is great to be recognised for sticking our necks out and trying to offer something different. This award adds the finishing touch to what has been a remarkable year. Things like this give all of us a boost in these difficult trading times.”

The award tops of a year off success for the two-shop retailer, which in 2011 won the Boutique of the Year category of the UK Jewellery Awards and shared the first place in the Retail Jeweller Inspiring Independents list.
