Jeweller Mays gives prize of £200 to spend on jewellery

One lucky shopper has won a £200 prize to spend on jewellery at Oldham pawnbroker and jeweller Mays.

Winner Katherine McKee, 19, picked up her entry form from Mays’ promotional Golden Girls – featured in a previous Retail Jeweller story – who were spreading the word about the launch of the new Spindles Centre store, which was opened by Coronation Street actress Shobna Gulati who plays Sunita Alahan.

McKee said: “I was shocked when I heard that I had won the Mays competition – I never win anything and as a young mum it will be fabulous to treat my son and I. I got my entry form on the day of the launch and although I missed Shobna by seconds, Mays’ Golden Girls looked great! I’m excited to go back to the stunning new Spindles Centre store and choose some gorgeous items from their huge range of new jewellery.”

McKee received her £200 Mays shopping voucher prize from Mays’ Oldham store manager Matt Riley.

With an 85-year presence in Oldham, Mays has recently relocated from Manchester Street to a modern new space on the ground floor of the town’s Spindles Centre.
