Mococo expands with fifth store
Jewellery retailer Mococo is set to increase its presence in the UK jewellery market after opening its fifth store in Tarporley, Cheshire, earlier this month.
The Cheshire-based store was designed by owner Lee Hooson and Apple Shopfitting and Displays, which carried out the re-fit and manufactured the cabinets, and adds to the jewellery chain’s portfolio of stores in the North West, including locations in Liverpool, Chester, Mold and Ruthin.
Speaking to Retail Jeweller about what the expansion would mean for his company, Hooson said: “Opening store number five means we are now officially known as a ‘multiple’, but it also forms part of our growth and expansion plans.”
He added: “Typically there is a champagne and cognac bar with the main emphasis aimed toward a warm and cuddly place for girls to be. However, having a bar with TV, malt whiskies and cognacs means that there’s an opportunity for us to keep the gents happy as well. Customer service is, as always, our number one priority.”
The opening follows Retail Jeweller’s report last year that the retailer was planning to expand. Mococo has a focus on selling on-trend silver jewellery, and currently stocks brands including Pandora, Thomas Sabo and Shaun Leane.
