Chisholm Hunter to begin expansion with Bluewater store
Scottish independent diamond merchant Chisholm Hunter is planning to break into the London market, with the launch of a store at Bluewater.
The opening of the flagship store is part of a wider expansion programme, which will see the Glasgow-based business expand further in the next six months.
The Bluewater shopping centre store will stock a range of diamonds, wedding rings, jewellery and luxury Swiss watch brands.
The store is currently being fitted out and will welcome its first visitors this summer.
Chisholm Hunter director Tracey Brown said: “We have long had our sights set on the London market and now seems like the perfect time to open a store with the Olympics and the Queen’s Jubilee expected to bring a huge swell in the number of tourists to the city and surrounding areas.
“Bluewater itself is a shopping destination like no other and attracts an average of 28 million visitors a year. We already have a number of stores north of the border but this is our most ambitious venture yet and we are very excited at the opportunity of exposing our brand and shopping experience to a much larger audience.
“It is our intention to further expand into the south which we are very excited about and we have more expansion plans throughout the UK and Scotland on the horizon.”
Chisholm Hunter has just been shortlisted for Retail Jeweller’s UK Jewellery Awards Multiple Retailer of the Year 2012 category.
