RJC certifies Crossworks Manufacturing

The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) has certified Crossworks Manufacturing against its ethical, human rights, social and environmental standards.

The Vancouver-based cutting and polishing company’s successful verification was carried out by independent auditing firm Vidhi Aggarwal from SGS. This makes it the first North American cutting and polishing firm to be certified by the RJC.

Speaking about the certification Uri Ariel, president of Crossworks Manufacturing, said: “RJC Certification is a great goal for us and we are keen to promote the RJC globally. We support the RJC’s work in providing transparency throughout the diamond pipeline to the consumer and are proud to work with our partners in promoting responsible business practices.”

RJC CEO Michael Ray said he is “delighted” the firm has been certified and added: “Many RJC members have commenced the process towards certification and we very much look forward to announcing their achievements over the coming months.”

The RJC is an international not-for-profit organisation bringing together more than 310 member companies committed to promoting responsible ethical, human rights, social and environmental practices in a transparent and accountable manner throughout the jewellery industry from mine to retail.
