Rox triumphs at Scottish Fashion Awards

Jewellery Retailer Rox was named Retailer of the Year at the Scottish Fashion Awards 2011, last night.

Co-owners Kyron Keogh and Grant Mitchell were presented with the award at the annual event, which is now in its sixth year and was held at the Glasgow Science Centre. High profile guests included Samantha Cameron in her role as ambassador of the British Fashion Council, Dame Shirley Bassey and Lulu.

The retailer, which has also been shortlisted for the prestigious Independent Retailer of the Year at the 2011 UK Jewellery Awards, beat stiff competition from fellow retailers Spoiled Brats, Bunmi Koko and Mackintosh to take home the Scottish Retailer of the Year title.

Speaking about the win Keogh said: “To win Retailer of the Year is truly incredible and we are absolutely thrilled. It’s an honour to be recognised at an event of this stature and it is fantastic exposure for our brand on a global scale.”

He added: “This is a huge achievement for our team and comes as a very welcome surprise on a night where we were delighted to even be nominated.”

The win was attributed to Rox’s ability to provide quality product, elegance, premium designer brands and unrivalled customer service in a luxurious shopping environment. Rox’s exponential growth, innovation and commitment to closely following catwalk trends were also key contributing factors in the company’s win.

Last Autumn Rox unveiled its refurbished Argyll Arcade store, which took its retail space to 4,500 sq ft and now includes a Moet sponsored bar. The retailer has revealed that since reopening like-for-like sales have risen 60%, despite footfall in the Arcade being down by 23%. Rox’s average transaction value has also risen by 45%.
