The Jewellery Show at Spring Fair is the place to see what the industry has to offer for 2012. Retail Jeweller looks at the trends, brands and designers you won’t want to miss
The desire to do new things comes with each new year. January and February seem to be a flurry of reorganisation and attempts at keeping new year’s resolutions, until March when we’ve all calmed down and decided to proceed in much the same way as we did the year before.
However, if you keep only one resolution it should be to make a trip to the NEC in Birmingham from February 5 to 9 for The Jewellery Show at Spring Fair.
From products and brands to the newly launched watch section, there is something to appeal to every retailer, whatever they are looking for.

The big news for 2012 is that Swarovski has chosen The Jewellery Show as its UK exhibition platform for the first time in several years.
“Swarovski has a growth plan in place to expand its portfolio of partners and stores, and The Jewellery Show provides an excellent platform to invite visitors to explore the world of Swarovski and its possibilities,” says Swarovski UK and Ireland director Hayley Quinn.
New brands to the show this year will include Tresor Paris, London Pearl Company, Charles Green and Saint Maurice. Also new at The Jewellery Show is watch area Time, which has been created due to the growth in watch exhibitors.

“We’ve identified a gap in the market and you will see both new and returning suppliers in this area that are bringing with them a host of brands including Royal London, Storm Watches, Festina, Chic, Danish Designs and many more,” says The Jewellery Show event director Julie Driscoll.
The Catwalk Cafe will be back again, sponsored by Pandora, hosting a revamped seminar programme packed full of inspirational talks, debates and business advice.

The Design Quarter was an incredible success last year and it is even bigger for 2012. Featuring design talent such as Sushilla, Aradia Nista, Alice Menter and Sonya Bennett, it is the ideal place to find something a little bit off the beaten track.

Also included in this section will be the Design Quarter Gems exhibitors (find out more on page 28), from which will be selected the Houlden Group Designer of Excellence. These designers will include Rachel Galley, Babette Wasserman, Cindy Dennis Mangan, William Cheshire, Leyla Abdollahi and last year’s Houlden Group winner SHO Fine Jewellery.
The Company of Master Jewellers will also be presenting its award for Best Jewellery Collection, as voted for by member retailers who visit the NEC.
Whatever you go to The Jewellery Show for, the next five pages will help you navigate the stands, find the ideal products for your store and get the
most out of what’s on offer.
