Van Cleef & Arpels opens in Selfridges
French jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels opened its first boutique in luxury London department store Selfridges today.
The boutique is situated in the department store’s famed Wonder Room on the ground floor. The boutique has been designed to reflect the high-end brand and features dark wood and eau du Nil carpeted floors, soft curtains and silk-satin covered art deco inspired furniture.
Visitors will be able to see the brand’s iconic Alhambra clover motif design, with pieces that come in a variety of sizes and set with semi-precious stones, including turquoise, tiger’s eye, cornelian, lapis lazuli, grey and white mother of pearl, and onyx. The gold Perlée collection and Zip necklace range will also be available, and The Watch Bar will feature the Poetic Complications Timepieces of the Maison.
The brand has marked the Selfridges’ opening by creating a new Magic Alhambra set. The set comprises a long sautoir and three motif earrings, in rich yellow gold and deep malachite, inspired by the vintage Alhambra necklace offered by Prince Rainer to Princess Grace of Monaco in the 1970s. The pieces will be available in Selfridges as a worldwide exclusive for a short period of time only.
