A large crowd joined together in the blazing sunshine at the Toulston Polo Club near Tadcaster to watch the finals of the Ogden of Harrogate Armada Dish and Silver Jubilee Plate competition.
The day drew teams from as far afield as Hertfordshire, Edinburgh and Sussex, but suitably two Yorkshire-based teams contested the Silver Jubilee Plate, in which Barracuda beat the Ogden of Harrogate-sponsored Leolene Lions 5-4. Ogden of Harrogate, in association with luxury brands Longines, Vertu Phones and Favero Jewellery, sponsored the tournament and guests enjoyed a champagne reception and four-course lunch accompanied by the sounds of the jazz band All That Jazz before an afternoon of chukkas followed by the fiercely competed finals. During the prize draw, Pat Ong of York was presented with a Longines Ceramic Chronometer watch by Ogden of Harrogate director Ben Ogden. He said: “With the help of Longines, Vertu and Favero, we have been sponsoring this polo tournament for the last four years, and it simply grows in popularity every year.”
