Alpha introduces Jewel Lok security system

Alpha has introduced a product called Jewel Lok, which attaches directly to jewellery merchandise rather than the packing.

Alpha, a division of Checkpoint Systems, has come up with the product as an alternative to traditional EAS tags applied to the back of jewellery cards, which can potentially be removed.

There are methods for attaching Alpha’s Jewel Lok directly to stud, hoop and loose jewellery. The solution has been designed not to negatively impact aesthetic display and is said to be virtually invisible to shoppers.

Alpha vice president and general manager Larry Yeager said: “Based on customer feedback, we are confident Jewel Lok is a highly desirable jewellery protection solution.

“Because of this, we will expand on the family of Jewel Lok solutions for other types of merchandise, like rings and watches, in the near future. If Jewel Lok can deliver back even half of the retailer’s current jewellery shrink numbers, imagine the impact it will have on their bottom line.”
