Mastercut launches Diamond Jubilee competition
Mastercut Diamonds is launching a Diamond Jubilee Design Competition at The Jewellery Show 2012, in celebration of the Royal Diamond Jubilee.
Entrants are being encouraged to be imaginative and to design an innovative piece of diamond jewellery, which will contain 20 Mastercut diamonds, valued at over £20,000.
Mastercut Diamonds were been developed by diamond cutting expert Jean-Paul Tolkowsky and each diamond has 89 facets and is cut with a star pattern that can be seen in the stone. Tolkowsky will judge the competition, which will take place at The Jewellery Show, in Birmingham in February, and the winning design will be manufactured by Mastercut Diamonds. The Mastercut Diamond Jubilee piece will then be exhibited during London Jewellery Week, at The Company of Master Jewellers Business Conference in June and The CMJ Summer Trade event in August and at IJL in September, as well as touring the country to be exhibited at selected stockists of Mastercut Diamonds.
The winning designer will also be awarded a free stand at the CMJ August trade event in Birmingham.
The closing date for entries is March 30 and the competition is open to professional and non-professional designers, students, graduates, teachers, jewellers and goldsmiths based in the UK.
Designs will be judged according to originality, wearability, the creative use of Mastercut diamonds and technical skill.
Entrants must submit drawings of their designs.
