White Pine Trading opens in Birmingham as part of UK plans

Recycled diamond trading company White Pine Trading has opened a UK office in Birmingham, as part of its continuing expansion into Europe.

As well as its Birmingham opening, White Pine Trading has appointed Dave Padmore as a buyer responsible for building customer relationships in the UK. Padmore is a GIA-certified gemmologist with extensive experience in diamond grading and buying.

White Pine’s investment in the UK is part of its plans to be able to offer a localised service for its existing customers in the UK, while also growing its business in the region. The company has also had a recent office opening in Barcelona, Spain.

White Pine buys recycled diamond stock from jewellery manufacturers, retailers, pawnbrokers, precious metal buyers and refiners. It buys diamonds of all sizes, grades and conditions, which it uses in its own jewellery range, and distributes globally using an extensive network built up by its team in the US.

European director Tim Philips said: “We consider the UK to be a critical market and a key focus for us in 2012. We will be focusing on servicing our existing network of clients and building strong new relationships across various market sectors.”

The company has been conducting an industry wide marketing campaign and recently exhibited at The Jewellery Show in Birmingham.
