Boss Watches unveils QR code window promotion

Boss Watches is launching a customer promotion that uses mobile-device friendly QR codes.

The shop window campaign encourages readers to scan the two-dimensional barcodes to link to a bespoke competition website with prizes including Boss watches and a VIP night out at a London arena.

Steve Brydon, sales director at MGS Distribution, the exclusive distributors for BOSS Watches in the UK said: “A good retailer understands one of the most important sales tools they have in their armoury are their windows. It is where a consumer forms their first impression of the store and the products it offers. For existing customers it must promote newness and highlight changes in trend, season or fashion so they have a reason to revisit the store.

“At Boss Watches we understand the importance of this concept and our watch display becomes our ‘window within a window’. The POS we supply must keep our brand fresh and alive for the retailer and consumer alike.”

Boss Watches aims to change its in-store POS materials every eight to 10 weeks and to create innovative visual projects to entice the customers to stop at the jeweller’s window and more specifically, at the Boss Watches display.

For the new QR Codes promotion, Boss Watches will provide retailers with window stickers and showcards for the BOSS Watches display, featuring the unique competition QR code. Customers scanning the code using their smart phones will link to the special competition site with free entry to the promotional draw to win Boss watches and VIP night outs at a London arena.

Brydon said: “Using advanced technology such as QR code scanners, tells our customers and retailers that, as a brand we are up-to-date and constantly moving with the innovative structure of the consumer society.  We are hoping this will encourage the customer to look further in to Hugo Boss as a brand and to become more aware of Boss Watches being a top fashion brand within this sector.”   

The promotion will run from April 28 until May 31 in all stores across the UK.
