G-Shock to launch 30th anniversary awards

G Shock and Dazed & Confused magazine are teaming up this year to launch the Casio G-Shock 30th Anniversary Awards.

The awards, which are part of G-Shock’s anniversary celebrations, will present the best of up-and-coming talent in the fields of fashion, sport, music and arts.

Contenders from each category will be shortlisted by Dazed & Confused and the winners will be selected by a panel of industry experts. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in October and will each receive £3,000 to fund their future work.

A winner will also be chosen by the public and will receive a £5,000 cash-prize for exemplifying Casio G-Shock’s ‘Spirit of Toughness’ in regards to overcoming any obstacles on their road to success. Nominations are currently being accepted.

The judges for each category will be revealed each month from July onward in Dazed & Confused. The most recent issue announced the judges for the fashion category.

Sarah Salter, senior marketing communication managers at Casio, said: “The Casio G-Shock Awards in association with Dazed & Confused is a great opportunity for us to identity exciting young talent and nurture their drive to succeed.”
