Maurice Lacroix to open eight boutiques worldwide and grow in Europe

Maurice Lacroix is investing in the expansion of the brand and plans to open a total of eight exclusive stores in Asia and Europe in 2012.

Throughout 2012, the Swiss watch manufacturer will open a total of eight independent stores in Zurich, Switzerland, Berlin, Germany, Bangkok, Thailand, Singapore, Shanghai and Beijing, China, Taipei, Taiwan and Vietnam. Other locations will follow.

Additionally, Maurice Lacroix is taking over distribution in Italy, France and Holland, recruiting local employees for sales and marketing jobs in the process. These changes are intended to help the brand strengthen its presence and develop more efficient solutions in terms of distribution and customer service.

With the takeover of distribution in Italy, France and Holland, the Swiss watch manufacturer says that its foothold in Europe is also growing. Following the changes, Maurice Lacroix has appointed Bernd Schreiner as sales director for central Europe. Schreiner has been working for Maurice Lacroix since 2007 as sales director for Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and South-Tyrol and in addition to this, he will now also be responsible for personnel and budget for the Netherlands and the UK.

For the UK market, UK sales and marketing director Matthew LeFevre remains the direct point of contact.

Further investment in the expansion of the brand will follow throughout 2012. A spokesperson said that these measure should help the brand generate “above average” growth for the industry.

Maurice Lacroix managing director Marc Gläser said: “The opening of exclusive brand boutiques and the expansion of our market presence will create significant opportunities for growth besides strengthening the brand. Various further measures are currently being planned, also for implementation in 2012. Exciting times lie ahead, in which Maurice Lacroix will deploy a number of surprising and trend-setting initiatives to consolidate its position.”
