By Royal appointment

Having decided to set myself up as the go-to girl for Royal engagement/wedding jewellery commentary (it’s amazing what two minutes on the Beeb can do to one’s ego), I thought it was high time we had a little engagement ring round up to see what early birds are cashing in on the craze.

We’ve already reported that H Samuel and Blacklock were doing a roaring trade on their imitation rings (imitation in style obviously – there ain’t nothing paste about those Blacklock stones) but they aren’t the only ones.

QVC has something on its jewellery home page that looks suspiciously similar, while Vanessa Burkitt at Catherine Jones Jewellery has dusted off her casts from 1981 when Charles first gave the ring to Diana to create her rings and Goldsmith’s has also got a Middleton on sale for just £999.

Does this make you want to bust out the sapphires and start cluster setting everything? Or are you praying for April so you can forget about all this?

As always the best comments make it into the mag so start typing.

I think Pandora should pick up on this stunning design quickly in case their lovely little beads become unpopular...
