Cocktails with Cheryl Cole at the de Grisogono party

Last night ladies and gentleman, I fulfilled a life ambition - meeting Cheryl Cole.

The Fight for This Love singer was at the de Grisogono event at top London eatery Nobu to launch a new capsule collection of rings named Promise, which she can be seen wearing in the music video to her latest single Promise This, designed in collaboration with the jewellery brand’s founder Fawaz Gruosi.

Retail Jeweller editor Laura McCreddie and I were lucky enough to be invited along to the bash by the wonderful team at Finch & Partners, who represent the brand in the UK. The night started with cucumber cocktails and Laura striking up a conversation with popette Diana Vickers over shoes - of course. Vickers was just one of a collection of celebs at the star-studded event. Cole’s Girls Aloud band members Kimberly Walsh and Nicola Roberts also turned out to show their support, all of course looking stunning.

Cheryl arrived before dinner looking amazing in an asymmetric gold and cream dress, where I got the chance to say hello before she was whisked off amid a flurry of flashing cameras. Guests were then treated to a sumptuous dinner, including Nobu’s trademark dish, the blackened cod, which was delicious.

After dinner I got talking to X Factor judge Louis Walsh, who was extremely friendly, about this year’s X Factor and Nicola Roberts about her make-up line. We also managed to take a look at the new collection of rings, which are beautiful and made in rose gold and blackened silver. Cheryl Cole is a massively popular star and I’m sure the collection will be firm sellers for the brand - you could even say that’s a promise.
