Those in the trade with memories of the UK Jewellery Awards are still being encouraged to enter this year’s #UKJA25 social media competition as the event prepares to mark its silver anniversary this year.
Entries can be made across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and is a way for the industry to share its memories of the awards over the last 25 years.
Anyone can post an image or a memory from UKJA ceremonies in years gone by using the #UKJA25 hashtag.
The best posts will be featured by Retail Jeweller in the lead up to this year’s silver anniversary ceremony on June 29 and an overall winner will be selected to receive a prize on the night.
Often dubbed the industry Oscars, the UKJAs are the only awards for the industry judged by the industry and remain to this day the most prominent and well recognised accolade in the trade.
Over the last 25 years, the awards ceremony has firmly cemented itself as the leading industry event to celebrate the achievements of all aspects of the trade, from designers through to suppliers, brands and retailers.
Retail Jeweller editor Ruth Faulkner explained: “This year sees the landmark silver anniversary of these high-profile awards, first launched back in 1992. It is a remarkable achievement to still be delivering the industry with such a fantastic platform for profiling its successes after so many years and we are keen to share the achievements and memories of those who have enjoyed attending this wonderful event.
“We know there must a huge number of you in the trade with memories to share from years gone by at the UKJA – photographs, winners’ trophies and definitely the odd story – and we look forward to reliving some of these memories with you.”
#UKJA25 is open from now and, over the coming weeks, Retail Jeweller will also be sharing some of its favourite memories from past awards.
The 25th anniversary edition of the UK Jewellery Awards, in association with Clogau, takes place on June 29 at London’s Hilton Park Lane. For more information please visit awards.retail-jeweller.com .
