Jewellery and watch trade event International Jewellery London (IJL) has opened its doors this morning for what is anticipated to be a busy 62nd edition of the show.
Taking place at London Olympia and running until the end of the day on Tuesday September 5, this year’s IJL is event director Sam Willoughby’s last one at the helm of the show ahead of her departure from parent company Reed Exhibitions in October.
Over 500 jewellery and watch focused suppliers and brands will exhibit new collections at the three day event with 180 exhibitors new to the show for this year.
New to the show for this year are areas including the Retail Experience Area and Jewellery Live in addition to a revamped seminar programme, which sees the introduction of the DigiFest Theatre, sponsored by Retail Jeweller, and featuring a variety of content focused on all things digital incorporating everything from social media through building a successful website and much more besides.
The new areas and changes to the seminar programme have, according to Willoughby, come about in response to visitor demand to meet the ever evolving needs of jewellery and watch retailers and suppliers.
In addition to the debut of the new features, the show will also play host to its usual variety of catwalks, competitions and announcements with news of new launches and initiatives expected to be plentiful over the coming days.
This evening will also see IJL host its exhibitor and visitor party which takes place at London Olympia after the show closes at 7pm.
