The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) consulted with a selection of its members and industry influencers about its future at a dedicated event in London yesterday (April 24).
Held at the NAJ’s London head office, under Chatham House rules, the full-day Future Leaders event saw representatives from all areas of the industry retail, trade association, buying groups, manufacturers, trade press and suppliers meet to discuss topics including; What the NAJ can do to help the UK jewellery trade, Whether Brexit will improve the outlook for the industry and What the new NAJ website should look like.
Speaking to Retail Jeweller at the event, NAJ chief executive Simon Forrester said: “We want to work with our members to shape our strategy for the future. We want that strategy to be very member led and I am really pleased with today’s discussions as they have been really helpful, and we now have lots of things to consider and ideas to work on.”
Forrester added that there will be similar event held at the NAJ’s Birmingham head office in the coming weeks.
The association hopes to launch its new website, which will be predominantly consumer-facing at the front end, before the end of the year.
