Retail Jeweller is delighted to announce that it will once again be teaming-up with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) to lead a specially selected delegation of retail buyers and suppliers to the Hong Kong International Jewellery shows in March 2017.
Following on from the success of the inaugural hosted buyer programme in March this year which saw 15 retailers visit the Hong Kong Diamond Gem & Pearl Show and the Hong Kong International Jewellery Shows, the HKTDC together with Retail Jeweller is now offering 30 individual companies the chance to attend the shows in 2017.
Unlike last year, places are open to representatives from brands and suppliers, who may be interested in sourcing from the shows, as well as retailers.
There are 30 places on offer in total although several of these have already been filled by those who expressed an early interest after this year’s event.
The Retail Jeweller delegation will be required to travel from London Heathrow on February 27, 2017 returning to the UK on March 6, 2017 those who are selected to attend will be provided with one return economy class flights and five night’s accommodation in Hong Kong, enabling them to visit both shows.
Those wishing to apply cannot have visited the show this year (2016) and must be willing to have their participation in the trip featured in an issue of Retail Jeweller.
Additionally all applicants will be subject to a strict screening process by the HKTDC and their decision on eligibility is final.
Retail Jeweller editor Ruth Faulkner commented: “Our first HKTDC Retail Jeweller hosted buyer programme this year was an unprecedented success with all participants agreeing that both shows provided excellent buying opportunities from a fantastic range of suppliers.
“We are delighted that the HKTDC has asked for our help in organising a further, larger, delegation for 2017 and we are confident that this trip will be as successful as the first.”
Dominic Wakefield director of Wakefields Jewellers in Horsham said of the 2016 trip: “I have never been to a show that was so relevant for my business needs, particularly in the non-branded jewellery sector.”
Those interested in applying for the trip are asked to do so via email to Ruth.Faulkner@emap.com with Hong Kong Buyer Incentive Programme as the subject line before Friday January 6.
Participation is limited to one representative from each retailer. Candidates will be subject to eligibility screening by the HKTDC.
