Seiko official sponsor of 16th IAAF World Championships

Watch brand Seiko has been announced as the official sponsor of the forthcoming International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships for the 15th consecutive year.

Seiko has been the official timing and measurement expert for the IAAF since the second World Championships held in Rome in 1987.

The watch brand will showcase its state-of-the-art timing and measurement systems over the 10 days of track and field competitions starting on August 4 in the Queen Elizabeth Olymic Park stadium in London.

In addition, the brand will be responsible in 150 days’ time for the timings at the men’s and women’s marathons taking place on the streets of London.

According to Seiko, there will be enhancements across all timing and measurement systems, with an emphasis on data distribution in 2017.
