UK Jewellery Awards 2016 winners revealed

The winners of the 2016 UK Jewellery Awards in association with Clogau have been revealed in a glittering ceremony at London’s Hilton Park Lane this evening (June 29).

Multiple retailer Beaverbrooks, independent Green + Benz and jewellery brand Pandora all walked away with top gongs scooping the Retailer of the Year (six stores or more), Retailer of the Year (five stores or fewer) and the Jewellery Brand of the Year accolades respectively.

Other winners on the night included Fei Liu who took home the Jewellery Designer of the Year award and Dalia Daou who scooped the New Designer of the Year gong.

Patrick Fuller, chairman of WB – The Creative Jewellery Group, was recognised for his contribution to the jewellery trade taking home the night’s prestigious Outstanding Contribution to the Industry award.

Two of the UK’s four Assay Offices were also recognised with awards with Edinburgh scooping the Innovation Award for its End-to-End Hallmarking and Fulfilment service while Assay Office Birmingham was crowned Employer of the Year in recognition for all it had done for employees when it relocated to a new premises.

Jewellery supplier Hockley Mint walked away with the Bridal Collection of the Year accolade while ethical brand, Artic Circle Diamonds also achieved recognition for Ethical Jewellery Business of the Year.

Independent retailer Argento was given the title of Best Store Environment for its Belfast store while Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery took home the award for Bridal Jewellery Retail of the Year.

In the brand categories, Danish jewellery brand Sif Jakobs scooped Brand to Watch while Citizen walked away with Watch Brand of the Year. Designer jeweller Shaun Leane was recognised as a brand in his own right, scooping the Fine Jewellery Brand of the Year award and Make Mends was crowned Supplier of the Year.

Gemporia was awarded the title of Etailer of the Year for the second consecutive year and Watchfinder also made it two years in a row as it was crowned Watch Retailer of the Year.

Commenting on tonight’s awards, Ruth Faulkner editor of Retail Jeweller said: “A huge congratulations to all of our finalists and winners.

“Competition this year was extremely tough and to be crowned a winner shows you really are the best at what you do.

“Another fantastic night was had by all at what is the premier event in the jewellery industry’s calendar. A huge thank you to all of our sponsors, in particular our headline partner Clogau, for helping to make this event possible and thanks also to all of those who attended to recognise the achievements of their industry colleagues.”
