UK Jewellery Awards winners decided

The winners of the 2018 UK Jewellery Awards have now been decided following two days of intense judging at Retail Jeweller’s head office last week (May 10 and 11).

More than 30 top industry names attended the judging days to preside over the shortlisted companies and cast their deciding vote on who should walk away with the industry’s top accolades on July 4 in what will be the 26th year of the trade’s leading awards event.

On the morning of May 10, a panel of suppliers presided over the retailer categories, while in the afternoon, representatives from retailers decided on the winners of the brand and supplier categories.

On May 11, a further panel of industry experts held a series of interviews to decide the winners of the designer and new designer categories.

All voting for the eventual winners was conducted anonymously, so no one left the judging room knowing who had won, adding an extra element of mystery and excitement to the ceremony, which will take place on July 4 at the Artillery Garden at the HAC in the heart of the City of London.

This year’s event, held in conjunction with headline partner Clogau, will see 19 businesses and individuals awarded in categories covering everything from design and manufacture through to brands, retailers and suppliers.

Other sponsors of the event include ChloBo, Citizen, the Company of Master Jewellers, Hockley Mint, IIDGR, International Jewellery London, Pursuit Software, TH March and Uno de 50 together with supporters the National Association of Jewellers, Rotary and Wolf.

Tickets for this not-to-be-missed event are selling fast and include unlimited alcohol and a funfair.
