UKJA links up with Marie Claire as Consumer Media Partner

Leading women’s monthly consumer title Marie Claire has been announced as the official Consumer Media Partner of the 2016 UK Jewellery Awards in association with Clogau.

Organised by Retail Jeweller, the annual UK Jewellery Awards (UKJA) are the only trade awards of their kind for the industry and this important partnership with Marie Claire marks the first time that the event has boasted a consumer title as its official media partner.

As part of the partnership, and in a change to the entry process in previous years, Marie Claire readers will be asked to vote for the winner of the prestigious Jewellery Brand of the Year category via the magazine’s website.

A shortlist of jewellery brands, which this year will be decided by the Retail Jeweller and Marie Claire editorial teams instead of submitted for judging by the brands themselves, will be presented to Marie Claire readers and they will be asked to decide on their favourite.

The brand which receives the most votes via will be crowned Jewellery Brand of the Year at the ceremony on June 29.

Commenting on the partnership Retail Jeweller editor Ruth Faulkner said: “We are delighted to be working with Marie Claire on this year’s UK Jewellery Awards. The magazine is such a prestigious and well-recognised consumer title, known for excellent fashion and jewellery coverage, so it seemed like the perfect partnership.

“Asking Marie Claire’s fashion conscious readers to vote for Jewellery Brand of the Year brings a different element to this year’s competition and should reassure the winning brand that they have got it right when it comes to connecting with the end consumer – great news for the brand and its retail stockists alike.”

Voting will open via Marie Claire’s website once the UKJA shortlist has been announced on February 7.
