Richard Talman Fine Jewellery
DOB 21/06/96 Age 19
Hugo Johnson is currently a fourth-year diamond-mounting apprentice with Richard Talman Fine Jewellery (RTFJ), where he produces handmade bespoke jewellery for national and overseas clients. A unique 19-year-old, his drive, focus and determination has already seen him graduate from the Foundation Programme at The Goldsmiths’ Centre with distinction, work closely with clients on bespoke pieces at RTFJ and, in 2014, help launch the Crafts Council UK’s Education Manifesto for Crafting & Making at the House of Commons. For the latter, he spoke to the House about the value of practical training for industries such as jewellery and the importance of craft in education.
Johnson is an amazing advocate for the industry and, in 2016, as part of the WorldSkills UK squad, he will compete for the chance to represent the UK at WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017.
