Kay Murphy has held different retail positions in the jewellery industry since she was 18 years old. Over the course of her employment with various different retailers, Murphy has completed Jewellery Education & Training (JET) 1 and 2, and JET Management courses. Starting off as a Christmas temp at Half Price Jewellers in Birkenhead, she has since gone on to work with retailers including SS Milton, Pykes Boutique Jewellers and Suttons & Robertsons.

She has been in her current role with premium independent jeweller Waltons of Chester since July 2015. There, she works with brands including Breitling, Tag Heuer, Bremont and Fope. She is also responsible for buying in many of the store’s prestigious brands. Currently, Murphy is considering various different training options to help further her career and is looking at becoming a registered valuer.
