Ellie Air Jewellery

DOB 14/08/1990 Age 25

Lauren Rowden founded Ellie Air as a contemporary fine jewellery brand in 2013. Each piece of jewellery is designed, made and finished by hand in Rowden’s workshop in central London.

Rowden initially trained in Contemporary Jewellery at Alchimia, the international jewellery school in Florence, and before then she worked as an apprentice in a Hatton Garden jeweller’s shop. It was there that she first fell in love with gemmology and the technical creation of the pieces she worked with each day.

Rowden says that the theme for her collections is both delicate and minimal, and reflects on the time she spent in Italy. Each collection’s name features an Italian word that celebrates the pieces contained within it, bringing together elements across each series’ creation, from inspiration through to the finished objects.

Rowden’s jewellery is now stocked in 17 retailers in the UK, including EC One and Wolf & Badger. This year, she has been shortlisted in the prestigious New Designer of the Year category at the UK Jewellery Awards.
