In Retail Jeweller’s first Rising Stars 30 Under 30 supplement we present the amazing young talent that exists in the industry. Here we look at Rebecca Struthers.
Managing director, Struthers London
DOB 22/02/86 Age 29
Since graduating as a qualified watchmaker and jeweller in 2008, Struthers has honed her skills working for some of the top businesses in her industry including Fellows & Sons Auctioneers’ watch department and Bonhams New Bond Street, before heading back to the bench with one of the top vintage and antique watch restorers in the UK, Steven Hale.
Struthers then moved back to her home city of Birmingham with her husband and fellow watchmaker Craig Struthers, and founded Struthers London.
Struthers sealed the company’s first major collaboration as official watchmaker to Morgan Motor Company shortly after. She launched her debut Regency collection at the Saatchi Gallery’s SalonQP exhibition in November 2014, styled around her love of 18th century European watchmaking.
Struthers is studying as a doctoral researcher of antiquarian horology. She is set to complete in 2016 and it is currently believed she will become the first watchmaker in British history to earn a PhD in horology.
