In Retail Jeweller’s first Rising Stars 30 Under 30 supplement we present the amazing young talent that exists in the industry. Here we look at Stephanie Edgar.
Key account administrator, Mastermelt
DOB 05/04/89 Age 25
Having joined Mastermelt as a receptionist in 2010, it quickly became obvious to the company’s senior management team that Edgar had what it takes to manage a more senior role.
In 2011, Edgar was promoted to the role of key account administrator for both jewellery and industrial in the UK. This involves not only confirming to the customer their jobs have arrived, but tracking and chasing the job through the various production stages, whether at the company’s Hatton Garden or Buxton operation. She then consolidates the data regarding treatment weights and assay results to compile the statement for the customer, and organises the payment or metal transfer. Some of these accounts are £110k or more per transaction, so Edgar’s attention to detail is critical.
The level of customer service she provides has been described by the management team as “exemplary” and she has recently been made responsible for the training of all new employees in administrative roles. Last year, Edgar was put on to the first stage of Mastermelt’s management training programme.
