As part of our Jewellery & Watch Q&A special, we caught up with new brand Lucinda King’s creative director Samantha Owen to find out more
Why did you decide to launch the debut range at J&W 2017?
Jewellery & Watch is renowned for being a great show in terms of the quality of exhibitors as well as attracting the right buyers from all over the UK, so it seemed natural that we should debut our collections at the show.
What was the inspiration behind the new range?
The unique clean, contemporary and elegant designs are inspired by my background in industrial design and my love for fascinating surroundings and spectacular architecture.
What makes the collection stand out against other competitors?
Bringing minimalistic and contemporary designs to everyday fashion with delicate and sparkling stone-set pieces, Lucinda King is intended to be layered and stacked, celebrating unique style. The range of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings are available in sterling silver and 18ct rose gold plated set with white topaz. All designs are available from £40, depending on the finish and style.
It is the fashion-forward, trend focused and unique style ethos that we believe will be commercially appealing for our target audience. This, coupled with a competitive price point and high quality jewellery, we are confident Lucinda King will stand apart from our competitors in this market.
Who are you targeting with the range in terms of stockists?
We are targeting fashion focused retailers that embrace social media and really understand the younger buying habits. We launched Lucinda King in Mococo in Chester and following a successful launch, will soon be in three more Mococo stores - ideally we’d love to find more retailers of this calibre.
Do you have a target number of stockists you want to open at the show?
We do have a figure in mind but it’s not about quantity, as much as quality. For us it’s really about finding the right fit.
What are you plans to attract people to your stand?
We are offering the chance to win the first order for one lucky retailer - the pack itself retails for over £2,000. This will get one our retailers off to a great start with the brand.
Lucinda King is exhibiting at stand DQ12 in hall 17 throughout Jewellery & Watch 2017.
