IN PICS: Baselworld 2017 colour trends

Blue shows no sign of abating in terms of watch colour trends, if this year’s Baselworld is anything to go by, while burgundy also makes an appearance as a new colourway on some watch designs.

This year’s Baselworld trade show, which continues today (March 27) at the famous Messeplatz in the Swiss town, has offered precious little in terms of new trends, but the move towards blue on watch straps and faces – which has been pretty much everywhere as of 2015 – continues, with most brands offering their take on the blue trend on at least one, if not more, of their new timepieces.

Away from the sea of blue, burgundy has also been spotted as an emerging trend, particularly when it comes to the fashion watch brands, with the likes of Swarovski, Guess and Obaku all showcasing burgundy on watch straps.

Elsewhere, the black and rose gold colour combination has proved a popular choice for watches this year with both the luxury and fashion watch brands offering this option in men’s and women’s styles.

Celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, Baselworld concludes on Thursday (March 30).
