Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer has expanded its smartwatch concept with its ‘second generation’ Connected Modular 45 timepiece concept.
Tag Heuer announced the new launch at two press conferences in Switzerland and San Francisco yesterday (March 14), alongside its technology partners Intel and Google.
The Connected Modular 45 features a unique design in the smartwatch category, including a connected smartwatch module that is interchangeable with a traditional mechanical watch ‘module’. The timepiece is available in a variety of materials, colours and combinations, with the personalised concept also applying to lugs, straps and buckles.
The Swiss-made watches are water-resistant to 50m and feature GPS, an NFC sensor for contactless payment, a high definition screen and a selection of customisable Tag Heuer dials. The smartwatch also features Google’s Android Wear 2.0 technology, ensuring it offers access to everyday functions such as messaging, calendars and emails.
