WatchShop.com teams up with Raymond Weil

Online watch and jewellery retailer WatchShop.com will now offer Swiss watch brand Raymond Weil’s latest limited edition designs online.

The website will sell the watch brand’s new limited edition timepiece dedicated to Gibson guitars, available to pre-order now.

Raymond Weil’s latest limited edition timepiece celebrates the electric guitar manufacturer Gibson and musician Lester William Polsfuss, also known as Les Paul.

The Raymond Weil Freelancer Chronograph, with its 43.5mm steel case includes a tachymeter bezel enhanced with black PVD inspired by the lacquer on the ‘black beauty’ electric guitar.

Featuring a circular guilloche motif with six chords studded by fret-shaped hour markers, the watch includes an ebony perforated calf leather strap to represent the sound holes that form part of the guitar body.

The names of the famous guitar manufacturer and the legendary Les Paul signature appear at the 12 o’clock point, while the split-diamond inlay – a distinctive feature of the Les Paul Custom is set next to the date window.

The watch also comprises a RW5010 mechanical self-winding movement ensuring an approximately 46-hour power reserve.

Henry Juszkiewicz, chairman and chief executive officer for the Gibson Brands said; “Raymond Weil continues to be a great partner and we are thrilled to be honouring the legendary Les Paul and his iconic work with this latest collaboration. The freelancer embodies the distinct design and quality craftsmanship that is so closely associated with each Les Paul guitar and is a wonderful complement to a guitar that continues to inspire the world.”

Commenting on the partnership, Elie Bernheim chief executive officer Raymond Weil added; “The values that unite us are rooted in that which is truly important to us – the importance and strength of family, the intensity and ease with which music carries us away, as well as the emotions that life and time imprint upon our personality. It is this unique combination of family, music and time that endows Raymond Weil with its distinctive, captivating personality.”

The collector’s model will be issued in a 300-piece limited numbered edition.
