Seeking solitude

I have spent the last few days in a town near the airport on the beach, having massages everyday, reflexology and sunbathing – it’s great! It is however, not so quiet, quite manic in fact,so I am taking myself off tommorow morning on the bike down to stay at a more secluded part of the island called Balangan. Here I will pretty much live on the beach for a week and sleep outside under the stars. I need this week of calm, solitude and silence to gather my thoughts and reflect. I am loving not having to be anywhere at any particular time and loving not having to do anything I don’t want to do! I will however – once I have unwound a little – begin work on my beautiful new fine jewellery collection.

This will be again a very high entry-priced collection as this is what I love and thrive on and will be based around the same theme as my beautiful emerald earrings I collaborated with Gemfields on. The title of this collection will probably also be Gandhi and based around some of his famous quotes. I am so excited to start this journey and lose myself in the infinite options of creating jewellery and the beauty I can create from nothing in front of my very eyes.

I am also very excited that I will be launching this collection at the Couture show in Vegas next year and will spend the next year or so gearing up for this and working on my US contacts in LA and New York. I have also secured an amazing amazing opportunity with regards to stones, but cant divulge until all is clear!

I am really enjoying writing this blog and this has also lead me onto another train of thought about how to make jewellery brands and business more interesting and a concept as a whole. I see my business as a three dimensional affair, I don’t just design and make jewellery, it’s never been that clear cut for me. Some day I would like to write a book on my experiences and perhaps open an artist colony and atelier in Bali to include a spa and gallery…..someday I will do it!
