Thinking about stones for the next collection

So these little beauties have been on my mind and providing such a source of inspiration to push the new fine jewellery collection forward….

These earrings have been on my mind

These earrings have been on my mind

I am so grateful to Gemfileds who enabled me to make these and so so proud of them, I feel every time I look at the shot of them I fall in love with them all over again, even more deeply…. It’s strange that this is often the way with me and my connection to my jewellery, I don’t always love the piece straight away and it takes me a while to really study it and look at what I feel is really strong and what I achieved well in a certain piece.

However, I am highly critical of my pieces and am always pushing to find the next design, collection or piece which leaves me feeling alive and sometimes speechless. As a creative and a business woman, you always need this drive for the next thing and for the next thing to be bigger and better, it’s always like this with me, onwards and upwards as ever.

I think if the day ever comes that I feel not excited by what I am creating or in awe of the piece, the story and the concept, its truly game over for me- I hope I never feel this.

So the new collection is coming together in my mind, formulating aesthetics, stones and feels – this is how I work. I think alot before I start on paper, asking myself questions, like ‘what am I tring to achieve with this?’ how can I really create the wow factor and completely flip the fine jewellery world on its head? The new collection will feature richly coloured golds, pear shaped cuts of beautiful coloured gemstones….I can’t give away too much as yet!
