Did you catch the X Factor final at the weekend? I’m still reeling with disappointment that THAT man (Matt Cardle) scooped the prize, robbing the talent that was Cher, and then Rebecca, who in my opinion stole the show with her winner’s single and whose team I’d resigned myself to after Cher was given the boot early on Saturday.
I was however pleased for Dannii Minogue, she’s this series’s real winner in my eyes. And boy did she win on Saturday night. What on earth was Cheryl’s hair about? Bad move Chezza, definitely not a good look. And while I’d normally support any Dynasty-inspired look (what’s not to love?), it definitely didn’t work with that quite 80s’ dress she wore from Roberto Cavalli. Having said that, at least the diamaond jewellery sparkled. Dannii on the other hand stepped out looking understated, pretty and demure in a beautiful red tiered dress from Australian design duo J’Aton Couture, accessorised with earrings from Annoushka’s Bochic range.
Cheryl upped her game for Sunday night’s final show, wearing a shimmering red dress from J Mendel, which she perfectly accessorised with stunning ruby jewellery from de Grisogono. Dannii took to the stage looking her usual immaculate self, wearing a shimmering white dress covered in bead and sequin detail from Jenny Packham. Dannii’s Bochic White Lace and Diamond earrings from Annoushka were the perfect accessory choice and looked like they were made to go with the dress.
Cheryl has worn some beautiful jewellery this series, but I think Dannii was slightly more consistent with her whole styling and definitely came out on top for me this year. What do you think?
Cheryl’s best pal Will.I.am gave a rather shaky performance in which I thought he was eclipsed by Cher. Though you have to love the large cartoon pendant of himself he wore - inspired.
I thought Rebecca Ferguson looked absolutely stunning on this weekend’s final and her jewellery choices, largely from David Morris, really complemented her look and styling. And Christina Aguilera put on a show and wore some stunning pieces from Stephen Webster.
So alas, the show is over and this is my final X Factor blog, which means I’ll now have to reintegrate into society. Well, until next year that is!
In the meantime Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!
