What a weekend on X Factor. Its two most contentious characters finally got the boot. I’m officially mourning the loss of my favourite contestant Katie Waissel by the way, especially as she just seemed to be stemming the tide of, in my opinion, totally unfair criticism she was put under while on the show. However, every cloud has a silver lining, and this year’s novelty act Wagner - frankly a poor man’s Jedward, also finally got the axe.
Elimination drama aside, it wasn’t just the performances that sparkled at the weekend, but the jewellery on display too. I’m not a massive Rebecca fan but it has to be said that she looks great, and on Sunday night’s show she wore a beautiful pair of earrings from Shaun Leane’s silver Multi Cat Claw Hoop Earrings to accessorise her Gareth Pugh at Harvey Nichols dress. Shaun Leane’s jewellery was definitely en vogue on this weekend’s shows, with Dannii Minogue also stepping out wearing a piece from the brand. Minogue accessorised her red dress from Carla Zampatti on Saturday night’s show and a black dress from Halston on Sunday night, with 18ct white gold and crystal drop earrings from jewellery brand Annoushka and Shaun Leane’s Silver and Gold Vermeil Claw and Bell Charm Ring on the weekend’s live shows. Since her triumphant return to form on last year’s X Factor, Dannii Minogue has rapidly hit the heights of fashionista status and she’s definitely the celebrity to watch right now for what’s on-trend.
However, I think Cheryl had a slight edge on Dannii this weekend, looking gorgeous in golden dresses by Pucci and Gianfranco Ferré. She also took to the stage having gone back to her natural brunette hair colour, a wise move in my opinion… sorry Chezza but us redheads are a select club. And she made a departure from her usual jeweller of choice, Swiss brand de Grisogono, in favour of jewellery by Garrard. The Promise This singer wore the brand’s Orrery Yellow Gold and White Diamonds ring and the new Entanglement Yellow Gold and Whiskey Quartz Cocktail Ring. Cole has worn lots of rose and yellow gold during the past weeks on X Factor, which just goes to show it’s not all about white metals at the moment. One thing is for sure, when Cheryl goes Stateside with the X Factor it’s certainly not going to do her jewellery brands of choice any harm in the US market.
What do you think of the judges/contestants jewellery choices? Are you going to miss Katie or Wagner and who do you want to win? Are you offering the same jewellery looks for less? If so then let us know.
It’s all about Cher for me now… bring on the weekend!
